Koyo Bearings: Quality Checks for Logo, Roller Bearings, and What VFD Stands For

Koyo bearings are a solid, defensible choice for industrial drivetrain applications—provided you verify the logo, part number, and application before installation. And if that application runs through a motor controller, know this: VFD stands for Variable Frequency Drive, and it changes which bearing you need.

Ball bearing wheels and the supplier question

Most buyers focus on unit price and completely miss radial play, raceway finish, and seal type. The question everyone asks is what's the price? The question they should ask is what's the radial play and how do you control it?

In 2024, we tested ball bearing wheels from four suppliers. Two met our radial play and noise specs. Two didn't. The difference wasn't visible in photos; it only showed up when we measured bearing play under a comparator.
